1. Bath Cycling Summit

Invitations / numbers

We are looking at upper twenties for attendees, so we can invite more people. Would be good to have more people. Ian Walker from Bath Uni was suggested. Can anyone suggest cycle enthusiasts in education or companies? Someone from First Bus?

Sponsors

Fielden, Clegg, Bradley Studios and Powabyke are major sponsors. This should cover cost of lunch etc.

Catering

Kindling Coffee are supplying lunch and tea/coffee at approx £9 per head. Booking tbc

Programme

Programme attached. Malcolm has produced draft notes for group facilitators. This will be circulated by email for comments. A meeting for facilitators tba.

Adrian will check we have flipcharts / projectors at the Guildhall.

Speakers / Chair

Malcolm has produced briefing notes for the speakers and chair. These were approved and will be sent this week.

Delegate packs

Programme etc to be emailled.
Hard copies of "A Sustainable Future for Cycling" and "Cycling and Health" to be available on the day.
A CD with key cycling documents will be available.

Press

First press release has gone out.
Second – a week before – will act as a reminder.
Keep message positive. Eg "Experts coming together in recognition of the benefits of cycling"
Frank will speak to Chron re coverage.
Could speak to TV a couple of days before event.

2. Events

Better Cycling in Bath workshop, Tuesday 20th May at BRLSI

Back on Track – A theatrical production during which the audience cycles along the Railway Path. This is part of the Fringe festival (details on BCC web site). Also "Back in the bike shed" - a behind the scenes look at the work to be held at John's Bikes workshop.

Kick the Habit – Thursday 5 June (daytime) at Green Park Station. We are invited to take part in an event raising awareness of different forms of transport. Are you available to give out leaflets and sign up new members?

3. Whatever you want to talk about

Bath has not been shortlisted as a Cycling Town. How can we help ensure that Bath has more chance of success in the next round of Cycle Town funding?

Why doesn't BANES have a Cycling Champion? Is it policy?
